On 7 April 2026 DayOneDream announced an exclusive contract with MEMI. Three days later the label announced her first solo headline concert, at Musinsa Garage in Mapo-gu, Seoul on 9 May. By the time that announcement went out, her London show had already sold out.

She has been releasing music under her own name since May 2022. This is the first time any of it has had a company behind it.

What the label is

DayOneDream's roster is BTOB, Lee Chaeyeon, Nancy, Jini, Shin Yong-jae and Kim Won-joo. That is a K-pop and vocal list. A rock guitarist who writes, records, produces and shoots her own videos is not the obvious next name on it, and the mismatch is most of why the signing was picked up as widely as it was: StarNews, Sports Khan, TenAsia, TopStar News and YTN's entertainment desk all ran it the same day.

The label's statement was that it was "delighted to enter into an exclusive contract with MEMI, who possesses distinctive musical identity and performance capabilities". What it committed to was album production, marketing, domestic and international performances, and branding. Those are the four things she has been doing herself since 2022.

What she brought to it

The coverage put her at over 850,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok, and named Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit and the band Phoenix among the people who had publicly backed her. Behind that: two EPs, a run of singles going back to "Hate U" in May 2022, SXSW in March 2024, Incheon Pentaport that August, and a cover archive on this site that starts in 2017 and is past five hundred clips.

What she did not have was shows. The tour list has two dates in 2022, one in 2023, one in 2024 and two in 2025. Six in four years, for an artist with the better part of a million followers. Whatever else a label is for, that is the number it has to move.

The order the news arrived in

The concert is billed 2026 MEMI CONCERT, at 6pm on 9 May at Musinsa Garage, and the line on the poster is "Cross the line. Start your own story." Pre-sale opens on 17 April at 8pm through YES24 and 29CM.

The order is the strange part. Manchester and London were already booked. London had already sold out. Only after that did the Seoul tickets go on sale. A Korean artist's first headline show at home is normally the thing that earns the overseas dates; here an overseas room cleared first, before her own city had been asked.

That is what four years of posting guitar playing to a mostly non-Korean audience buys you. She arrived with the demand built and the infrastructure missing, which is the reverse of how the roster she just joined was assembled.

What is next

A digital single, "BAD idea", is due at the end of April, described by the label as the first release under the contract. Then Seoul on 9 May, Manchester on the 20th and London on the 22nd.

Three things the contract has to deliver

Whether "album production" produces an album. She has never released one: the catalogue is two EPs and singles.

Whether the international dates keep coming after the first UK run, or turn out to have been a one-off.

Whether the release rate moves at all, given she was already putting out a single every few months without help.
