SETUPEXE is out on 21 September 2026. It is MEMI's second single since she signed with DayOneDream in April. There is no press release, no tracklist and no credits.
The two posts
On 7 September she posted a clip captioned "emo season is coming". She has not tied it to the single by name, and it is the only thing resembling a description of the record anywhere in public.
"emo" is a word she uses precisely. It is the label she put on "LOVE SONG" in 2024, on her "Tek It" arrangement in 2025, and on the half of Paranoia // Nostalgia that the title calls nostalgia.
Before that, on 9 July, a clip captioned "Cooking something special". That one went up the same day as her cover of The Warning's "Ego", so it may have been about the cover. Nothing else has been posted between the two.
The title
SETUPEXE reads as a filename with the dot taken out. Nobody has said what it means.
The Y2K desktop is not new for her, though. The "BADidea" video was shot to look
like the period when MTV still played videos, and y2k has been turning up in
her own tags since 2022.
The one rollout to compare it against
"BADidea" is the only record she has released with a label behind it, and it is documented day by day in the media archive:

Eight days from the first mention to release. Teasers three days and one day out. The video on release day rather than trailing it by a week. Then a month of follow-up material, and after that the live clips.
Against that pattern the 7 September post came early, which is the main reason to connect it to the single at all. If this rollout matches the last one, the teasers are still to come.
The song may already have been played
The set she has been playing since May opens with "Get da Faka" and does not consist only of released material. MK Sports' review of the 9 May show at Musinsa Garage lists songs she had not put out among the ninety minutes, without naming them.
So there is a reasonable chance this single has already been played to a room in Seoul, and to rooms in Manchester and London, four months before release. No title has been attached to any of them.
The first date after it
INMUFE in Suwon, across 17 and 18 October, is the next announced show, and the first place the song can turn up in a set as a named song.
