MEMI in 2026, show by show

Published 2026.09.08 · 7 min read

The tour archive on this site lists 40 past shows going back to 2012. Eight of them are in 2026, which makes this year, by a distance, the busiest in the record. It is also the first year in which the shows are not all in one country.

Here it is in order.

April: the signing and the single

DayOneDream announced an exclusive contract with MEMI on 7 April 2026. The label is better known for BTOB and Lee Chaeyeon, which made a rock guitarist an unusual addition to the roster and got the signing more coverage than a signing normally gets.

Three weeks later, on 29 April, "BADidea" arrived with a video shot to look like a jam session turning into a house party. She has said the intent was to make something that felt like the period when MTV still played music videos.

March 13: MOONDOG, Taipei

Before either of those, she had already played Taipei. This one sits oddly in the sequence, before the label announcement and before the single, and it is the first entry in what turned into a year with two Taiwanese dates in it.

May 9: Musinsa Garage, Seoul

The first solo headline show under the new deal, at Musinsa Garage in Mapo-gu, billed as BAD idea : Out of Line. It sold out.

For a guitarist who spent the previous decade in bands and in other people's sets, a sold-out room with her own name on the door is the actual milestone of the year, more than the signing was. Four clips from the night are in the media archive.

May 20 and 22: Manchester and London

Two UK dates eleven days after the Seoul show. Manchester was YES, in the basement room. London was the Shacklewell Arms, and it sold out early.

The setlist detail that made it into the reporting is worth keeping: she opened on "Get da Faka", the heaviest thing she has released, went through "Thin Lips Club", got a full room singing "Guitar Pick" back at her, and encored on "Waikiki". That is a deliberate shape. Open at maximum volume, close on the sunniest song in the catalogue.

Both venues are small. That matters for reading the result correctly: this was not an arena run, it was a first pass at a market, and the market answered by clearing the London room before the date.

June 27: Springwave, Taichung

A festival slot at Dajia Tieshan Sculpture Park, and the second Taiwan date of the year.

July 10: Vel.R, Seoul

A shared bill back home, on the 영호의 인디가요 콘서트 series, alongside 모탄절 and 김뜻돌. The archive holds several clips of MEMI and 김뜻돌 playing together, including a Sabotage cover, so the pairing was not a one-off booking.

August 12: Yes24 Live Hall, Seoul

Opening for The Warning on their first Korean show. The Warning are a Mexican hard rock band of three sisters, and the crossover with MEMI's audience is close to total. She had already posted covers of their material before the booking, so this is one of the rare cases where the archive shows the fandom running ahead of the billing.

October 17: INMUFE, Suwon

The one still ahead. INMUFE is the Gyeonggi Indie Music Festival, held over two days at Seoho Grass Square in Suwon on 17 and 18 October 2026. MEMI is on the announced lineup; the day and set time had not been published when this was written.

Reading the year

Eight shows is not a heavy touring schedule by the standards of a band that lives on the road. What makes it notable is the composition. Three countries. A first solo headline. A festival abroad. An opening slot for an international act at home. Four years earlier the archive has her playing Korean festival side stages; in 2016 it has her at Jisan Valley Rock and Jandari Festa, which was band work rather than her own name.

The trajectory in the archive is not a sudden break. It is ten years of shows followed by one year in which the bookings changed category.
